Catherine McCullough is Founder and Executive Director of the Intelligent Car Coalition, a group of industry leaders that has led the conversation on autonomous and connected cars in Washington, DC. McCullough also advises established and start-up IoT companies that want to understand the marketplace implications of their regulatory exposure, and non-tech companies that want to understand how emerging technologies will impact their businesses. In 2012 McCullough saw that the diverse auto, tech, and telecommunications industries would converge and transform transportation, and began talking about the societal benefits of autonomous and connected vehicles. She built the ICC and helped guide members through newly emerging regulatory territory. She created and executed strategies that helped shape the marketplace into one that welcomes life-saving innovations.
McCullough was raised in Washington and has spent the last 27 years working in rooms where decisions are made. She is sought after by media and top industry conferences to speak on complex issues at the heart of autonomous and connected car business models such as advanced communications, data use, privacy, cybersecurity, and autonomous vehicle policy.
Recently McCullough has brought her leadership and governance experience to roles serving as a member of the Steering Committee of Road to Zero, a group of government and private stakeholders intent on eliminating road deaths; as a mentor to start-ups at SXSW 2018; and on the Advisory Board of Gastropod, the award-winning podcast.
Prior to building and operating the ICC, McCullough led teams to resolve critical issues for corporate clients as a government affairs consultant. Before that, she served as a Counsel for the powerful U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation working on issues shaping the tech, auto, insurance, and consumer product industries. McCullough is an attorney and also holds degrees in Journalism and Political Science.
